A man was arrested last month after authorities said he was taking two tablets of Viagra to help with a sexual assault.
The 62-year-old was charged with "knowingly and intentionally causing serious and life-threatening bodily harm," according to the police report.
The man, from the town of Murel, Cozumel, told investigators he had been taking Viagra and had been struggling to get the pills from his doctor.
The man told investigators he wanted to buy Viagra from his doctor before he took the pills, the police report said.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was diagnosed with a heart condition and was given a prescription for Viagra to treat his heart issue.
The man said he would "take a few Viagra tablets to get it back on the market."
When asked if he had ever taken any drugs, the man denied knowing his name.
The police report said he also had a prescription for sildenafil and Tadalafil, two prescription medicines that are used to treat erectile dysfunction, both of which are also sold as Viagra.
He also told investigators he had taken a prescription for a drug called "Pulmicort" and had been prescribed the drug "sig" because he wanted to treat his "heart condition."
The man said he took a small tablet of Viagra and the man was taken to a local hospital with a "severe heart condition" and a "life-threatening and serious condition."
Police said they believe the man, from Murel, Cozumel, was the man who had been taking the pills to help him with his heart condition. They said he had not told anyone about the drug.
The man, who is believed to be between 40 and 60 years of age, has been listed in the Murel Police report as being in his 60s.
Police said he was also in possession of a prescription for a drug known as sildenafil, which is used to treat erectile dysfunction.
